It's just not coming together at the moment

Well I had a bit of an off-weekend.  I set aside 2 solid days to work on my Potions homework for HPKCHC - didn't even manage to get to 1/4 of my targeted number of repeats.  To balance it, my Muggle Studies OWL iq really racing along (I do it while waiting for internet pages to load...so.... no prizes for guessing what I've been doing).

I could squeeze in another couple of attempted hours but I'm going to admit that it just doesn't excite me today so I'll move onto something else and hopefully I'll be back in the groove tomorrow.  If not, I'll just have to hope that it'll block in a single day (unlikely)

Let's see where I'm at halfway through January

Well, it's not really halfway through but better to do this now before I get stuck into things this weekend.

I've finished 3 items for HPKCHC but only handed in 2 as I need to take a photo of the other one, just small things but it's good to have them done..  I'm plugging away at my OWL items but haven't finished any as I'm having some difficulties with placing eyes.  I'm going to try taking the necessary components into work early next week and see if someone can push them together for me.  Once I finish something I can start seeing how my yardage is going.

I've started reading Feast of Souls by C.S. Friedman this week.  It's been a while since I've read anything of hers but I always enjoy them if I'm in the mood.  I'll likely re-read some of her stuff soon (after I move).

These are the projects I've finished.  A set of 5 bookmarks & a toy (that'll most likely end up being a missle around the office truth be told)

Knitting update (specifically for HPKCHC)

I feel I'm travelling well with my plans at present.  I've decided to be insane and go for the Ultimate Quest
  • 6 completed classes each month
    •  I really, really hope I don't run out of ideas, but still I can always ask in the common room / see what others are doing.
  • 2 OWLS
    • Transgifuation - my 'Torrent of Toys'
    • Muggle Studies - Cardigan (DROPS design)
  • Quidditch
    • This should be fine as any participation counts.

So far (and it's the 5th - end of the day but even so, not too far in)

Jan Classes
Transfiguration - done
DADA - about 75%
Potions - this's the big one for the month - about 1/7 of the way through, there's a lot to go though
Charms - not started but I know what I'll do & it's a quick one
Arithmancy - not started but I know what I'm doing, not quite sure how long it'll take.
Divination - about 50% done.

OWLs
Both proposals have been approved & I've started.  I need to get up to 33% by the end of February.  The main difficulty will be when I'm moving.  I'm going to try to submit my Transfiguration before the move & my Muggle Studies afterwards.  That'll mean I've only got major project to leave out and have handy.

Quidditch
One of the activities is to organise your favourites in a certain fashion.  I've finished that today.  Another is to organise & tag your stash appropriately.  I've got everything written down ready to go and I'll upload it all this weekend (I swear, I seem to be thinking of doing everything but packing)

Well, better get back to it as unfortunately the needles won't move on their own.

The New Guyver - initial thoughts

As background today I finished watching the new series of The Guyver.  I'm not certain whether it's better than the original which I've still got on video but can't watch (due to VCR problems).  There's all the same elements but it's decidedly different.  The characters are more complex which is a good thing but I do miss the sheer fun of the old one.  One thing, at least there's no whining characters although I do wish that Mizuki would grow a bit of backbone (or even, that there was any strong female character), still, that's not why I watch this stuff I suppose.
